Each year on the second Tuesday in December, volunteers from Mortgage Intelligence and Invis, along with our business and lending partners, hit the streets in cities across Canada to lend a helping hand to those without a home.
Angels in the Night is our own charity dedicated to helping homeless shelters during the coldest months of the year. Although our daily jobs are to help people own a home, there are thousands among us who simply do not have a roof over their heads or options for shelter of any kind.
After fundraising throughout the year, organizers in each participating city work with Salvation Army shelters to ensure that we purchase goods that deliver the greatest impact for their residents.
Those items include personal toiletries such as soap, shampoo, toothbrushes and toothpaste - the most basic items that help in restoring a feeling of dignity. Many shelters ask for and receive basic clothing items such as underwear, socks, fleece sweaters and pants, hats, gloves, shoes and jackets that help people feel warm in the cold winter. Some shelters ask for items that can help their residents get back on their feet such as work boots and jeans.
The charity doesn't stop with us. Check www.angelsinthenight.ca to view more details, learn about what we do and make a donation.
A little help goes a long way. You can be part of the change in someone's life.
